On the road again…
Oct 8th, 2009 by Melinda
Working on organizing the fridge/getting rid of some food before leaving on our trip
I put “operation clean out fridge/freezer/pantry” into motion
I loved these in my salads- definitely kicked it up a notch :D
I had SO much fruit to get rid of…
So I made watermelon juice- I had 3 glasses of it
I also put the Starbucks Via samples to use- I am going to pack some for our upcoming weekend trip

The Italian Roast was very bold- I shared this with the hubby since an entire cup would have me running around in circles
Roscoe modeling
I also ate alot some honeycrisp apples and organic pb- I shared with Roscoe since he loves pb too
I also used up some organic potatoes- I oven roasted them w/organic seasoning & organic olive oil- so good!
And another salad- I ate alot of salads this week!
See..I told you
there will be lots more salad in my future
Lookit! The postman left me a package..hmmm wonder what it could be??…
Yay so excited to try these out!
I feel so priveleged
The last of my Calm tea
Like cinnamon much?
Before my hair cut- I get nervous every time I go to the hairstylist…I’ll post an after pic later
I got Roscoe’s things packed up for the kennel- I get very upset about leaving him
I always pray for God to take care of him & for him to be happy..he’s like my child
I didn’t want to upset Roscoe- so I didn’t start packing yet- seeing me pack stresses him out unnecessarily-so now I need to start packing!
So later once Roscoe was gone and I was depressed for a while I finally started packing- but back to Roscoe, I didn’t realize how close I am to him- I missed him so much once he was gone- I had to distract myself and stay busy
A few shoe options for dinner..
A few outfit options..
Some jewelry options..
And I think I’m finished packing now!
We ended up with one suitcase & a bag- we’re only staying Friday-Sunday so we don’t need that much- plus we are going shopping on the way!
I just found out that we are invited to go to Virginia for Thanksgiving this year, plus the Kentucky Derby so that’s 2 more times I have to leave Roscoe- I really wish I had someone that I trusted leaving him with-but I’m extremely picky about who keeps him.
We have alot of fun things planned for our trip to Asheville, NC- shopping, apple picking, maybe the Biltmore Estate, some hiking to waterfalls, white water rafting, gold grubbing (not sure if I want to go since I’ve already done it before), some great places to dine, my DIL birthday bash of course, and whatever else we can fit in. And of course a trip to Whole Foods on the way back home- I’m super excited about that!
I’ll be back posting on Monday since it’s such a short trip but I’ll still be reading all of your comments!
Have a great weekend everyone!

I love those falafel balls from Costco!!
I find looking at other people’s fridge far too amusing. Is that ricemellow in the background? Are you supposed to refrigerate that or is it a preference thing?
those falafel balls are my absolute favorite!! mmm love me some starbucks
You had quite a full fridge to work through! Not usuall the case with me, haha.
Sorry about having to leave Roscoe
But have fun on your trip!
Have a great time on your trip!
I know how you feel about your dog - I am the exact same way. I feel so bad for my little punkin’ when I have to leave her behind. She was a pound dog, so I think she has flashbacks every time I have to take her to the kennel.
I hate leaving my dog, Rufio too. I swear he is always mad at me once I come back from a trip!
your salads look so good, i think i have to get myself some meatless meatballs!
hope you have/had a great time in NC!!
