Grocery Run & Miguels Review
Dec 16th, 2009 by Melinda
To get in the Christmas Spirit- I thought I’d share one of my favorite ornaments with you
The hubby bought me this Swarvoski crystal ornament for Christmas last year- so pretty
Lunch- Raw cukes & Bellpepper aaandd…
Some Sabra hummus for dipping!
Later, the hubby and I went to town to pick up some groceries & do some Christmas shopping
This is such a ”Myspace” picture haha
We made a stop at Publix first, here are the goods…
Organic bananas
Organic apples
Some organic grape tomatoes
And some organic Tangelos
Some organic lemons for my water- they were out of regular lemons
Cascadian Farm products were on sale 2 for $4!
Great for the hubby’s short lunches
Amy’s pizzas were $5 each- I got 2 for the hubby
These were B1G1Free which made them $1.50 each- these are the hubby’s fave
Not on sale, but I did have a 40 cent coupon
Thanks to So Delicious - I got this chocolate icecream for free! I will let you know how I like it
We didn’t have much luck at Target- which is not usually the case
Christmas goodies for the nieces and nephews- I have to find some more things to fill up the bags
Unfortunately, we got such a late start because the hubby had to work late and ship out some packages- so we really didn’t get any Christmas Shopping done- we are hoping to go one day this week.
And I forgot to drink my greens today- so I had this later.
Wheatgrass is SO much easier to get down than Spirulina- I think it’s that fishy taste of the spirulina that I can’t handle uggh- ever since that Wakame Seaweed Salad incident, I can’t hardly stomach fishy things- I haven’t even touched my Raw Nori wraps in months. What can I say, I get traumatized easily
And remember all of those UPS packages that came in?
All of the boxes were sent by the Miguels Company except for one
Can you believe they sent all of this?? Wow!
I was excited to try the Chipotle because I love spicy
It was perfect! I loved the big chunks of tomatoes
I really liked the Black Bean & Corn Salsa- this was more filling- I could make a meal out of this!
They also sent these Honey Plaintain Strips which were VERY addicting- I had to put the bag down!
Usually I like salty foods- but these just weren’t my thing, they weren’t bad, they just weren’t that tasty- maybe they would be great as dippers, I’ll have to try that!
Overall, I really liked Miguels products and would purchase them again in the future now that I’ve tried them for myself. I LOVED the Honey Plantains as well, but am afraid I will have to make those a special treat once in a while or else I could get carried away!
They would make the perfect on the go snack! I plan on bringing some chips & salsas to the Christmas parties and see what my family thinks as well- I have a feeling they will go over quite well ![]()

I’ve recently stumbled across your blog… you’re so witty! I find it very entertaining reading your posts. Thanks for puttin’ a little sunshine in my day.
Goodness gracious… you get so many free samples! That’s a pretty sweel deal! How do your acquire so many? What do you say to the companies when requesting?
Take care and keep up the awesomeness.
(Oh, and enjoy those samples! Can’t beat the price!)
honey plantain chips sound awesome
love grocery shopping
& thanks for the review- sound good
oh Publix! My favorite grocery store when we lived in Atlanta
Hahaha the myspace pic made me giggle. I in fact have a whole folder on my pictures of JUST myspace pictures. Back in the early highschool days- i def took my fair share of myspace pics.
Ooo salsa up the wazoo! You must try some with raw carrots. Or cucumber even. Seriously, almost as good as veggies with hummus. Almost.
