Lots of Prezzies!!
Dec 21st, 2009 by Melinda
Okay, so I have been kind of wrapped up all weekend, so it looks like I will have to do a post of the entire weekend in one post, so here goes!
So Friday, before leaving to go Christmas Shopping- I had a bite to eat
My new thing- raw crackers with a pile of spinach & a smear of roasted red pepper hummus- sooo good!
We were at a stop sign so I tried to take a quick picture of the two of us- it was a no-go
We picked up a few groceries- broc., onions, potatoes, bananas- all organic, vitamins, brownie mixes & some Cape Cod chips
And an excuse to pick up some more of these babies
We picked up hubby some Chick-fil-A for dinner
And we stopped by Redbox and picked up a movie- where I encountered about 15 screaming 12-year old girls- I chatted with them and found out that they were having a Birthday party and they rented about 5 movies. Did I mention it was freezing outside?? I was so cold by the time I got to pick my movie- I could barely move my fingers.
We put a dent in our Christmas Shopping as well- we hit up Ross’s and then the Mall (Aeropastle, Victoria’s Secret, Old Navy, Sears)
We settled in to watch a movie and hubby had the fireplace going as well- does it get any better than that?
This was such a great movie- I love both Matthew M. & Jennifer G.- it was such a funny movie and had such an awesome ending! Romantic Comedys are my fave!
Has anyone else seen this movie?
So moving on to Saturday now…
It was cold and a perfect day for baking!
All ready to go into the oven!
And the finished product- hubby kept asking if the brownies were ready hehe
Now they’re ready! Hubby enjoyed them
I’m trying to watch my calorie intake- so I passed.
I did have some hot tea
I’ve been loving this flavor lately- I have tons of teas and lately I’ve gotten back to drinking more hot tea than usual. I’m pretty sure it has something to do with the cool weather
I also had 2 organic tangelos
I also had one of the coconut bars
Hubby worked on the bath remodel ALL Day- those boards are not the actual flooring but temporary boards- I am so happy seeing it coming together!
I forgot to take a picture, but I made the hubby an awesome dinner- squash casserole, sweet potato, baked chicken & mac & cheese- he definitely deserved it after all of that hard work!
Oh, and in other news- I now have a new nephew!! His name is Preston- he is so adorable
A prezzie for me from the hubby- wonder what it is??
And another
To hubby from wifey
More prezzies
And here is one of Roscoe’s prezzies- yes, he does open his own gifts- we taught him how to when he was a baby! It is so funny, he uses his teeth and paws to tear them open
I can’t wait for Christmas- only 4 more days!!!
My dinner- organic salad w/raw crackers crumbled on top
Sunday, I spent pretty much drinking hot teas and watching Christmas movies. The hubby and I watched the 2 hour finale (or most of it- we have to finish watching it tonight) of Survivor and had homemade hot chocolates- I have to say, I’m happy with Natalie winning! Russell was so manipulative, controlling and a liar- although I did feel sorry for him a little bit when he was tearing up at the Live show. I know, I know, I’m a big softie
Anyway, that was pretty much my weekend all wrapped up- tomorrow, we are supposed to be going to Tally on Reg’s work time and I am going to fit in some shopping as well! ;) Hope you are all having a fabulous Monday!! ![]()

i love rolling up spinach with hummus too! good idea with the crackers. those brownies look heavenly - i’d have such a hard time baking them/smelling the chocolaty smell and not digging in but good job
Preston is absolutely gorgeous. I can imagine your hubby would love the brownies too, those look fantastic!
I love all the gift wrapping… & those coconut bars, they’re my favorite!
the presents look great! and i want to try chick-fil-a, i’ve actually never been. the baking looks amazing
Congrats on the new nephew! Precious.
Also, congrats on getting shopping done. I’m following in my dad’s footsteps and getting everything done on Wednesday evening. He does it every year, and always gets everything on his list. It’s pretty incredible.
Also, those brownies look amazing! With a fire, husband, and movie? Doesn’t get any better! While you may not have had one to eat, I’m sure you appreciated the delicious aroma they filled your home with.
OMG you should take a video or a picture or him opening his presents. That’s too funny! Looks like you had a great weekend
I am thorougly impressed that Roscoe can open his presents. I agree with Kacy - you should totally video that. That is talent.
Kacy, Lindsey- I will totally try to video it lol
