Miso Soup Recipe
Jan 21st, 2010 by Melinda
Well, I hate to say, I didn’t make it to spin class this morning as planned, which I was kind of upset about
I really wanted that extra workout- but I guess I was so tired from the crazy weather last night. It was SO scary-thundering and lightning and like really big bangs- I seriously though the world was coming to an end and at one point even woke up the hubby because I was scared. I did say a prayer and after that I was able to go back to sleep. I hope that the rain/thunder is over with for now!
Backing up to yesterday afternoon- I was able to get in a nice 1 hour workout
But before that, I had a green monster!
This X2- I always end up making way too much- 1.5 or 2 glasses- I just make it my morning meal and snack
I did the elliptical, treadmill, the killer stairmaster, weights and abs.
After the gym, we had to do some grocery shopping.
We hit up Sam’s first and got 2 containers of Spinach, 1 HF Roasted Chicken, and 1 Pineapple.
Next stop was Publix- So happy to have bananas again- we’ve been out for a few days- welcome back bananas!
Fuji apples- If you look closely, you can see where I tore into the bag in between visits to Publix & Target- I was hungry!
Morning Star products were B1G1 Free at Publix- we got about 8 boxes
Hubby likes the bacon, egg & cheese sandwich for breakfast
Excuse the teabag/stevia mess in the background.
Red Baron Pizzas were B1G1 Free as well- they ended up being $2.90 each- what a deal! (See the Amy’s Pizzas on the bottom- those are my faves!)
Target is right next to Publix- so we went there next, to see if they had any deals going on
I found these fabulous shoes for this summer- LOVE!!
And these cute pair- they will go great with a dress, jeans, shorts
The hubby found some gym socks- so he was happy as well
And before I forget, Annie had asked me about my Miso Soup Recipe- the only thing is I never measure out recipes, I cook by taste. So I am going to do the best I can to remember- here is the recipe!
- 1 heaping TBSP. Miso
- Filtered Water (about 4 cups)
- 3 handfuls organic spinach
- 1/2 onion
- 2 cloves fresh garlic
- Cremini mushrooms
- soba noodles
Basically, I just poured the filtered water into the pot, added the miso and let it dissolve. Next, I added the carrots, onions, garlic, soba noodles and let it cook until tender. Lastly, I threw in the spinach and mushrooms and black pepper to taste. Enjoy!
I also wanted to update more about the family drama- things have turned around 360 (it’s a miracle, really!) and the truth has all come out about the certain people in my family that were trying to cause dissention and drama between us girls by gossiping and pitting us against one another. One thing that all of us learned is to learn to communicate better and if something is going on, we need to talk to each other about it. Another huge lesson is to have each other’s back when there are other family members gossiping about the other person- we are going to nip it in the bud instead of allowing it to fester. None of us gossip, but have been guilty of hearing other people gossip about other family members and not say anything, which is almost as bad as actually gossiping. Us girls have branded our group as the NGC- No Gossiping Club- how cute is that?! We are open to new members, and are hoping that more people join in and instead of tearing others down, put a stop to the gossiping and lift each other up with love and compliments!
Also, another great thing happened for my sister- I don’t really want to go into it because it’s about her personal life- but with praying, we are seeing some major blessings happening! Like, I keep saying, 2010 is turning out to be the best year yet!!
Today, I slept in late, I think the weather caused my sleep to be interrupted. I didn’t do much today besides dishes and emptying the trash. I watched The Real World and some Millionaire Matchmaker and had some tea. I plan on hitting the gym this afternoon and maybe watching a movie later with the hubby. Hope you are all having a fabulous Thursday- it’s almost Friday guys!!! ![]()

This is my first comment on your blog but I wanted to let you know that I really enjoy it. It is refreshing to find other bloggers with a strong faith and interests in health/fitness as well.
PS - Thanks for the heads up on the deals at Publix! Morningstar Farms products and Red Baron pizzas are things we always like to have on hand in the freezer. Perfect timing for our grocery trip tomorrow
